Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admits he is unable to hide from his poor record and says it is expected that Old Trafford former stars are questioning him.

On Tuesday, United's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney stated on his show that "the soul has vanished" from his old team.

Amorim has managed just eighteen victories from his forty-nine games in charge, including nine out of 33 in the Premier League, where he has still to achieve two successive wins.

Although high-level Old Trafford sources are certain that the INEOS chief is still backing Amorim, an inability to overcome recently promoted their next opponents on the weekend will ignite new discussion about his future heading into the upcoming fortnight pause in domestic football.

"This is normal," commented the Portugal-born coach, when questioned about the former striker's observations. "You can't run away from the outcomes."

"Then you have the baggage from the previous campaign, [although] that period for me doesn't matter."

Supporter Response and Current Situation

United's fans stayed behind Amorim following last season's dismal performance, when they finished fifteenth in the table - their worst performance since the 1973/74 relegation campaign - and were defeated in the Europa League final, in the expectation that the current campaign would be considerably better.

The manager told supporters the situation would change because he had more opportunity to work with his players without the midweek distraction of European competition.

Unfortunately is not how the initial six matches have materialised as Manchester United have endured 3 defeats already and find themselves fourteenth in the league.

Manager's Response to Concerns

When questioned what guarantees he could give followers that the situation will get better, the manager added: "It's not the time to say, it is the time to show."

"Personally look at the fixtures in the current campaign and, for me, they are entirely varied, but I have nothing to add at present."
